While shopping in my local Sephora last week, I stopped by the Too Faced counter to check out what was new for Spring. I was instantly pulled in by these “Mood Swing” lip glosses. Emotionally activated? What the what?! Well that was it, I had to have it!
There are four different shades and flavors (yes, They’re flavored!) of the Too Faced “Mood Swing” glosses, including Berry Pink (grape sweet berries flavor), Original (strawberry flavor), Petal Pink (strawberry flavor), and finally, the one I chose, Pink Shimmer (blueberry flavor). Let me just tell you… it is so yummy! It applies a lovely sparkly, sheer violet and in a matter of moments transforms into the most perfect rosy shimmer. It’s gorgeous!
I’ve tried wearing it alone, with a liner as well as over lipstick and haven’t been disappointed at all. This lip gloss wears beautifully and stays on a really long time without being sticky. It also feels amazing because it contains Shea Butter, Vitamin E, and Jojoba Seed Oil for super slick conditioning and hydration. It leaves a slight stain on your lips, so even when your lip gloss wears off (Which will take a very long time. For reals.) you still have a pretty rose flush to you lips.
Tip Try mixing this gloss with other glosses and see what happens. When I’ve tried it, I’ve been delighted with the results… every time has been different!
As you well know, I’m a self admitted gloss-a-holic, but this gloss is really innovative! It’s different, long wearing and just plain girly fun. It’s fabulous and flirty and truly something that everyone can wear. The Too Faced Mood Swing Emotionally Activated Lip Gloss is so original, playful and pretty, I highly recommend it!
Christmas came a little early for Mama this year when I decided to purchase the Sephora Collection Endless Color Blockbuster. It’s no secret I love Sephora; I’m like a kid in a candy store when I walk into one of their stores or browse the goodies at Sephora.com!
It’s actually a very dangerous place for me because I could do some serious damage to the ‘ole bank account in that place, but it’s been a while since my last Sephora purchase, (Dear Santa, I’ve been a very good girl!) and I’ve been wanting to get something like this for a while for doing freelance work (and eventually models for my makeup tutorials here on Glamarific.com – stay tuned!), and this set looked like the best deal with the most products. I was so excited when it arrived and could hardly wait to open it up and check it out!
Let me start by saying the Sephora Endless Color Blockbuster is smaller than it looked online… it’s very compact, but that’s not a bad thing. All of it’s 187 makeup products are tucked neatly away in a square, 5.75 x 5.75 x 2.5 box (all sizes in inches) that looks like a little Sephora shopping bag. So cute!
When you first open the Endless Color blockbuster, you’re greeted with 98 (That’s right, 98!!) gorgeous, original eyeshadows inside. My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw them… oh the things I could do with those shadows!
The colors are very nicely organized with cool tones on the left and warm tones on the right. I really like all the different colors and finishes from matte, shimmery and even glittery. So fun! The pigments were OK… I have others that are better, but all in all, not bad, especially for the low price of $48.00 for about $435.00 worth of makeup. (That number comes right from Sephora)
Slide the eyeshadows to the side and the rest of the products in the Sephora Collection Endless Color Blockbuster are revealed, including:
See what I’m saying about the most products for the price?!
The Endless Color lip glosses are conveniently positioned underneath the coordinating eyeshadows, (the warm toned shadows and warm toned glosses are on the same side, as are the cool tones – a great idea!) making things easy and very user friendly. I had a marvelous time trying on all the different colors and custom mixing my own lip colors. The glosses aren’t super shiny, but do stay on fairly well even with out lip liner. I added my own gloss on top for a little extra shine.
The liners in the blockbuster are pretty basic and I have no complaints. I had the most fun with the cream eye liners. The colors are vibrant and have a lot of pigment. I found I could apply them over the powder eyeshadow for a clean, defined look, or under the powder eyeshadow for a sexy, smokey eye.
The cheek colors are super pigmented in this Sephora collection of makeup, especially the pink, and a little difficult to blend. If you decide to purchase the blockbuster, my advice is to start light and build up to your desired intensity. It’s a lot easier than trying to blend down (like I did!).
I’m very happy with my purchase of the Sephora Collection Endless Color Blockbuster and I’m very excited to start taking it out to freelance jobs. I think this would make the perfect gift for a teenager just starting to wear makeup, someone that does a lot of traveling, or a makeup diva, like myself. What’s so great about this type of set is the value (remember: you get $435 worth of makeup for only $48!) as well as the ability to create any look you can imagine! That’s the really exciting thing to me, the endless possibilities! The adventure! The chance to create and recreate over and over again. But don’t take my word for it… check out the Sephora Collection Endless Color Blockbuster for yourself!
